Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu--Properly Defines Telugu!
It's been a long time since we have seen a good family drama sans all the cliched and melodramas associated with contemporary telugu cinema.Though melodrama is the key factor in this genre it takes high guts to dare and balance the film with two big stars.Past 25 years telugu cinema hasn't seen a true multistarrer, directed by Sreekanth Addala Seethamma Vakitlo....boasts itself to be the most awaited multistarrer of the decade.Sreekanth Addaala strips off the image of stars with his simple story line and establishes the importance of characterizations.
That's one reason why SVSC is so refreshing. The film stars Venkatesh and Mahesh as siblings, who overcome a lot of misunderstandings that affects their affection for each other.Sreekanth unfolds a simple story line where in he has a large scope to focus on the various mindsets of people. He has used many many characters but had to chop off most of them as it would affect the total runtime.Sreekanth who has done a commendable job with his previous run away hit Kothha Bangaru Lokam has the perfect knowledge and importance of a script for a film.Even in SVSC he comes in with a perfect script and execution.A director generally feels faltered while handling two big stars , but we never see that jerk in the film despite some issues with the pace of the film here and there.

What's Good: Venkatesh does all justice for the film.Generally we see him talking a lot in his films, but here he underplays himself and speaks less as the character demands.Mahesh is the show stealer as usual, there isn't any comedy track in this film , Mahesh himself shoulders that.He is handsome as usual and changes his slang again. We see him trying various slangs in various films, here he speaks Godavari slang which aptly suits him. Both of them have done a fabulous job by sharing screen space without any egos. They have kept their stardoms apart and the script takes the centrestage.Anjali is a perfect choice as seetha, she has shown a highly matured performance.Samantha, though has nothing much to perform, looks bubbly and chirpy.Prakash Raj proves it is only him who can don any role.Jayasudha,Ravibabu,Rao Ramesh,Abhinaya were okay and did their part well.Sreekanth Addala's direction is commendable and he has rightly balanced both the stars.K.V.Guhans cinematography is a treat to watch.Manisharma's background score stands loud and neat.Mickey's music was soothing to hear.

What's Bad: The narration was not in sequence which leaves people confused at times. The pace in the second half dips down and it happens quite a lot of times in the first half even. The climax was abruptly called off without much realization. The way some characters were chopped off was too rude,Ravi Babu's and Raja Raveendra's characters were chopped off and were limited to only the first half of the film.Choreography was bad.
Analysis: This film properly defines the Telugu traditions and family relationships in Andhra Pradesh. The culture is rightly reflected in the film.Telugu films have failed all these years in delivering the right flavor.Sreekanth Addala only concentrates on brotherly relationship and forgets the rest,of course the movie was meant to be on brother relationship though.Frankly there is no big story involved,no masala involved,no big fights involved,no big sets,no big duets,no vulgarity. Its a clean feel good film at the end.Two big thumbs up for the film,Sreekanth Addala and Dil Raju for a commendable job.
Verdict:Go watch it with your family.
