Dookudu-->You Require a HOOTER!!

P.S.:Before you read this ,yes i would confess this article is a rant.Still if you feel like reading yo are most welcome :-P

Mahesh...Mahesh...Mahesh !! As swathi says in ashta chemma "aa perlone edo mathhundi", Mahesh tries to flatter every audien who gets into the hall. After his misfired blockbuster Khaaleja mahesh is back with a bang with Dookudu.Dookudu is a typical sreenu vaitla film where the hero is back of the villains, often kidding them. The concept of virtual world is not sorry can never be wiped out of vaitla's mind, he uses the same pattern in the film as he did with his previous films,Ohh but thanks to Trivikram for tuning Mahesh's image in Khaaleja.Getting into the boots we have the story-->

The kick begins in hyderabad where Shankar Narayana (PR) is a people loved politician in late 90's, he emerges as a prominent leader.Ajay Kumar(Mahesh), son of Shankar Narayana follows his foot steps and one fine day he learns about his father's accident.Years later Ajay Kumar now an IPS officer is in search for the mafia don Nayak(Sonu Sood). He gets a news about his father getting out of coma and runs home.To his amazement doctor warns him to keep his father happy to ensure his mental and physical condition. And the rest is what Ajay makes to keep his father happy and what is the relation between Nayak and PR forms the rest.

The plot of the movie is subdued, you can't expect things to be perfect for such a story line. But thing is the screenplay and dialogues were handled by Kona Venkat and Gopimohan ,they make things go haywire and turn a simple script into a hillarious one .This one is no exception, the first half of the movie makes you buckled up in your seats for the awesommest comedy.Brahmi strikes the chord with this film, yeah brahmi is back.He got himself into a fine niche with the timing and dialogue delivery.

Mahesh Babu carried the entire film on his shoulders, he was too good with his punch timing and dialogue delivery. We saw him excel in Khaaleja and now he has matured himself. He has shown every variation in the character perfectly. His characterization with Prakash Raj worked out well in the senti scenes.Prakash Raj as usually sweeps the role with full marks.

Samantha on the flip side has a role which has lesser screen space. She was seen here and there in songs and in some key scenes, though she looked stunningly gorgeous with the oomph factor rising in every film.Chinmayi's dubbing was wasted ,as the role was limited her voice didn't last long as every one would wish to.M.S.Narayana was at his best with his show reel concept while Brahmi was on high with his reality show concept, particularly in the climax they were howlarious. It was in ready where Brahmi starts living in his virtual world and sreenu vaitla repeats the same but with a different tinge. On a whole though it is the same pattern you'll love it.Nazzer was humorous .Suman was decent, pragathi brought in smiles, baby aishwarya was never seen,Ajay was quick, Sonu sood replicated his role in Ek Niranjan.

Thaman wasn't that great with the BGM but was at his best in composing and RR though it sounds loud at times, but you can't really kill him for that drums ,Its his TRADE mark.Editing was a big hiccup the run time of the film was too lengthy, if the scissors would have worked well the movie would have been in a perfect pitch, i guess the director couldn't find an unnecessary scene as most of the scenes had atleast one hillarious moment in them.Item number by Parvathy Melton in the retro theme was choreographed well and of course she was Raunchy, she made it high. Meenakshi Dixit was sexy in the title number. The Locales in the song picturization were good.Action sequences were good though inspired partly from 'Goodbye Lenin'.

Watching the 2 weeks collection there's no second opinion about the film, its surely a monstrous hit, it has already wiped off many records and many more to go.The unanimous positive talk made the crowds rush into the halls.Though there's nothing to boast about the storyline it's the dialogues, timing and Songs that made the film get onto its dream run.Kona Venkat and Gopimohan had to be thanked for scripting the film into such an entertainer, never giving a delusion in the audience mind.

Verdict: You have no other option.Go watch the movie if you haven't still.

Dookudu Latest Trailer!

Dookudu Audio Review-->Drums and NO Cacophony!

After his 'Khaaleja' Superstar Prince Mahesh is yet again back with his action packed 'Dookudu' which is tentative to release in the late august or september.A mixture of rare talents are coming together this time, promising a feast to the fans the unit released the audio yesterday at shilpakala vedika amidst a huge gala crowd witnessing the event.Thaman after grabbing successive hits is again back with Dookudu.Lets see how this album turned out to be...

1.Nee Dookudu-Shankar Mahadevan-Vishwa
We know Thaman is best at his drums which some feel to be cacophonic , but in Dookudu you feel the beat of the drums rather than the usual Thaman style.Sung by Shankar Mahadevan this song is filled with energy and the lyrics add the required flavor to the song. The drums you hear in initial stages makes you glued to the song for hours together.Vishwa on the other side has penned in the lyrics to set in for each note. The chorus needs a worth mention , you'll love it!!The rap worked at places, this is the Intro song in the film and of-course it surely is one of the chartbusters.Rachha.

 2.Guruvaaram-Rahul Nambiyar-Rama Jogayya Shastri
OMG!!I have never expected a melody from Thaman for the kind of acoustics he has in his studio. He has outdone himself in this song.A soft melody and you know the tinge of pepper in Rahul's voice!!Surely a nice number in the album and of course in Thaman's history. You get acquainted to the song on repeated listening.RamJo of-course needs a worth mention for whatever he writes and this one is no exeption.

3.Chulbuli Chulbuli-Karthik,Rita-Rama Jogayya Shastri
I heard Thaman say 'I dont generally copy songs, if so i inspire' ,true to the statement i guess he got inspired by Rahman's 'Kilimanjaro'.The BGM is quite similar to that of Kilimanjaro and even is shot in that manner.Though it is inspired you'll like it as the additional vocals and percussions were well set for this track.Karthik is absolutely stunning with his voice and Rita carries it on a higher note.On a whole a peppy and familiar number in the album.

4.Poovai Poovai-Ramya.N.S,Navin Madhav-Rama Jogayya Shastri
Whatte voice Ramya is having , she has outdone and dominated all other singers in the album. The voice was husky and oozing with energy. You'll love the track to the core.Once again Ramjo penned it with extreme care and the lyrics were funny and superb. With a woofer box or a headset , i would just say put on volume and sit back.

5.Dethadi-Ranjith,Divya-Bhaskarabhatla
And another mass and peppy number in the album .Im not at all getting bored listening to thaman's mass numbers. They generally carry a "Thakka thakkare thakara thakko" kinda feel in them. And this one is no different.Ranjith's voice was too good and even Divya's.I personally loved this song to the core .There's no cacophony in this instrumentation ,the lyrics were adultish i would say.

6.Adhara Adhara-Koti,Karthik,Ramjo,Ranina Reddy,Rita-Rama Jogayya Shastri
And we end the album with a song that includes the general marriage rituals in a peppy manner. This song poses a lot of singers Koti,Karthik,Ranjith....etc.All went good with the song but the song may not go well with the masses.Overall 5 good songs and one mediocre song to end the album.

On a Whole Thaman comes up with a target audience funda and chooses to drum as much as he can, though this album sounds quite different from his past albums.

VERDICT:Feast for Fans and of-course who love Mass n Peppy numbers.
